The Reception of Erich Ludendorff’s Memoirs in the Context of the Dolchstoß Myth, 1919–1925

Erich Ludendorff was the dominant figure of the German war effort in the second half of the Great War. After the military collapse he was one of the main proponents of the Dolchstoßlegende, the main liability of the Weimar Republic. This article investigates what role his 1919 memoirs Meine Kriegserinnerungen played in advancing this myth.
